Hi, my name is Olman! I'm the person behind Flight-Software.com. I have a degree in both Computer Science and Satellite Engineering. I started the adventure of developing software for satellites back in 2017, when I developed the flight-software for the first Centralamerican CubeSat. Since then, I have contributed to a series of successful missions, where I had the chance to worked with and learn several different platforms, from small embedded to System on Modules; with different Operating systems (Real and Non-Real Time); with several communication protocols and interfaces; with several architectures and frameworks. Currently I have a position as researcher in the German Aerospace Center (DLR), where my daily job is to develop software for the different space projects.

I developed great interest for the topic of software for satellites, and discovered that there is no much bibliography when it comes to how to develop flight software, how does common architectures looks like, common functionality, best practices, examples, etc. There is not much material for beginners who need some help on starting with the conception and realization of a good flight software. This is where this project was born.

Here I try to collect most of the knowledge I have acquired over the past years, and build with it a coherent guide for any one looking for starting a software project for a new space mission.

I hope this site and the material will be of help to you and your team!

Thanks and best regards,

Olman
